The Gambia’s national football squad will compete in their first African Cup of Nations finals.

For the first time in their history, Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet has guided the West African country, which is rated 151st in the world, to qualification.

Saidy Janko, a former Manchester United junior player now playing for Real Valladolid in Spain’s second division, has been nominated to The Gambia’s squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, with England’s Ebou Adams of Forest Green Rovers and Salford City’s Ibou Touray.

The 28-man strong team also includes Sampdoria defender Omar Colley, Roma midfield Ebrima Darboe, and FC Zurich attacker Assan Ceesay.
