Tala’a El-Gaish and Egypt national team midfielder Mohanad Lasheen spoke up about being compared to Tarek Hamed, claiming his numbers speak up for him.
Lasheen has recently become a regular choice for Carlos Queiroz as he was included in the FIFA Arab Cup and provisional AFCON squad.
While some believe Lasheen’s choice for the national team squad was a bold correct move from Carlos Queiroz, some others claim Tarek Hamed should replace him as the veteran was excluded from Egypt national team AFCON provisional squad.
Lasheen addressed the topic, claiming that his numbers as a midfielder speak for him and he deserves his national team spot.
“Some say I am not as good as Tarek Hamed while my last seasons’ statistics say I am the player with the most successful interceptions in the Egyptian Premier League,” Lasheen said.
“The problem is I don’t have a fanbase to defend me, I am the midfielder who created the most chances during the lase season as well.
“You have to give 200% to join the Egyptian national team if you’re not Al Ahly or Zamalek player.
“Some people will just criticize players to trend on social media, and unfortunately, some people believe the.”
